I’ve never been abroad but, if I had to pick only one, that’d be it.
This little known spot in the Old World became known to me because I lined up for the release of Linkin Park’s 2003 album, Meteora. Yes, their sophomore album was named after the rock formations there.
But there are more than just rocks at Meteora.
Aside from the glory that was Greece, there are a number of monasteries there that only few have been allowed to see. That is why, though there is little to see there when compared to what is outside of the monasteries and churches, one goes there for the experience of being there. From there, you could travel to famous ruins, archeological sites, and mountains in just a few hours.
Very few places could boast that they could let you feel closer to yourself, to the universe, or to your deity or whatever it is that you believe in. Meteora doesn’t have boast about it.
