Soonest would be the book fair.
The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is only two more sleeps away. I have saved and even disciplined myself for that day—which means I haven’t bought books in the last five weeks, despite having the money and the knowledge of which books I want.
As a reader, the MIBF has always been like a convergence of all the candy stores in the country, just that the candy is more for the mind than the tongue.
But it’s not a foreign concept to actually lick—or even eat—books. Personally, I wouldn’t. Unless they were made to be eaten, then I’d reconsider.
For now, my plan is to buy, read, possibly re-read, and get lost in between the pages.
