I would like to see a wider view.
Certainly, where I stand and what I see now will change by next year. Those who are with me today may not be the same people—in one way or another—on that day. And while I like consistency and constancy, I know that there will be change in my family, friends, and myself.
That is why, as we all change, I would like to know I have come to grasp not just the act but what it results or resulted to and what it means to everyone who is affected by it. I want to be able to understand what I see and what I feel.
Out there is a world that changes with us. It does not become small. Nor do the people in it. I don’t want my view to be limited.
We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person. – William Maugham
