From the Valley | Depression Playlist

Here is the descent into darkness.

Depression is likened to a valley, a wide and spacious trap where so many never found their escape. And their voices from below are carried on the wind, heard by those climbing the mountains and hills. The echoes beckon to listeners, like sirens with their ceaseless songs of sorrow.

Almost is never enough – Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes
And we can deny it as much as we want
But in time our feelings will show
‘Cause sooner or later
We’ll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows

Cannonball – Damien Rice
Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer to me
So close that I can’t see what’s going on

Cherish/Windy – Barry Manilow and The Association
Perish is the word that more than applies to the hope in my heart each time I realize
That I am not gonna be the one to share your dreams
That I am not gonna be the one to share your schemes
That I am not gonna be the one to share what seems to be the life that you could
Cherish as much as I do yours

Collide – Howie Day
But I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again

Electric blue – Icehouse
In too deep, standing here waiting as I’m breaking in two
Electric blue
I can see, can see that it may be just a vision of you
Electric blue
On my knees, help me baby tell me what can I do?

Free Fallin’ – John Mayer
It’s a long day living in Reseda
There’s a freeway runnin’ through the yard
I’m a bad boy ’cause I don’t even miss her
I’m a bad boy for breaking her heart

Ghost – Indigo Girls
Unknowing captor, you never know how much you pierce my spirit
But I can’t touch you
Can you hear it, a cry to be free?
Oh! I’m forever under lock and key as you pass through me

Gravity – Sarah Bareilles
But you’re neither friend nor foe
Though I can’t seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you’re keeping me down

I’ll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me – Expose
Oh, no matter what I do
Each night’s a lifetime to live through
I can’t go on like this I need your touch
You’re the only one I’ll ever love

Kissing a fool – George Michael
I will wait for you
Like I always do
There’s something there
That can’t compare with any other

Mi Mancherai – Josh Groban and Joshua Bell
Mi mancherai amore mio (I’ll miss you, my love)
Mi guardo e trovo un vuoto dentro me (I look at myself and I find emptiness inside of me)
E l’allegria, amica mia, va via con te (And joy, my friend, goes away with you)

Midnight without you – Chris Botti and Paul Buchanan of the Blue Nile
And though I might want to
I just can’t stand the cold in you
I’d do anything but go through this midnight without you

Nobody knows – Tony Rich Project
How blue can I get, you could ask my heart
But like a jigsaw puzzle it’s been torn all apart
A million words couldn’t say just how I feel
A million years from now you know I’ll be lovin’ you still

One for sorrow – Steps
Now the places that we knew remind of how we were
Everything is just the same but all I feel is hurt
And do you ever think of me and how we used to be?

One last cry – Bryan McKnight
Still I sit all alone
Wishing all my feelings was gone
Gotta get over you
Nothing for me to do
But have one last cry

Photograph – Ariel Rivera
A picture of innocence, your eyes
They move me even now
If I had the confidence, I’d try
To bring you back somehow

Regret – The Blue Nile
Though I’m standing still
I’m in a moving place
The wilderness is quiet

Still hurting – Lea Salonga
Jamie is over and where can I turn?
Covered with scars I did nothing to earn
Maybe there’s somewhere a lesson to learn
But that wouldn’t change the fact that wouldn’t speed the time
Once the foundation’s cracked and I’m still hurting

Teardrops on my guitar – Taylor Swift
‘Cause he’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who’s got enough of me to break my heart
He’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do
He’s the time taken up, but there’s never enough
And he’s all that I need to fall into

Waiting for daylight – A1
They say I’ll get through this but how could they know?
How can I make it on my own?
You’re here in the shadow
You cover my heart
And I hear you whisper in the dark

When the stars go blue – The Corrs
Where do you go when you’re lonely?
Where do you go when you’re blue?
Where do you go when you’re lonely?
I’ll follow you

When your love was almost mine – David Pack
And I can’t forget your eyes
Or the day we said goodbye
I wish there was a way to turn back time

When your love was mine – Ronan Keating
Sometimes a man can’t see when he has it all
Take a look at me, oh how he mighty fall
Once I ruled the earth, once upon a time
When I had your love, when the world was mine

Why does it always rain on me – Travis
I can’t stand myself
I’m being held up by an invisible man
Still life on a shelf when
I got my mind on something else

Wounded heart – Bonnie Raitt
Wounded heart I cannot save you from yourself
Though I wanted to be brave, it never helped
‘Cause your trouble’s like a flood raging through your veins
No amount of love’s enough to end the pain
