Returning to a Favorite

Isn’t it nice when one of your favorite restaurants becomes a favorite of your friend’s as well?

On the behest of Arby, I met with him to catch up and rant about work and life. We were joined by new friend named Dave, who was a bit quiet. I guess he would be with a stranger (me) around. He interacted with us a bit but was still reserved for most of the meal.

And where were we having the meal?

Turns out that both of them had eaten separately somewhere else but Arby still told me that Café Shibuya was nearby, which he already tried and loved. Since I was still in a particular mood for a particular food, that was where we headed.

Café Shibuya at Glorietta is way smaller than the UP Town Center branch. Also, it is an open-type; no walls, just a low dais to demarcate their area. But I felt shy about taking a photo of the place because every corner had customers that faced me. Their decorations are also different as well.

Because it was just me who was eating there, I had no qualms about what to order. I asked for the Chicken Parmigiana and for dessert, I would have the Original Shibuya Honey Toast.

Like most chicken dishes with tomato and cheese sauce, the Chicken Parmigiana is best eaten warm. But because I was talking with friends, I kind of ignored it half way through. Doesn’t usually happen though. But I did love the sauce and the meat was cooked just the way I like it!

Just by the looks of the Original Shibuya Honey Toast, dessert would be fun. I shared the toast with the other two, who were still hesitant about eating with me. I drizzled the honey, which was frankly elating to do. Then I had my first spoonful and it was like eating a piece of a chewy cloud. That was when they joined in. And they liked my choice.
